Abstract


 


 


The implementation of new student enrollment is an activity which includes registration, selection and the acceptance of the students in the school. This research is a qualitative reasearch by using case study design. The data collecting techniques used in this reasearch are: participatory observation, depth interview, and documentation. The conclusion of this research are: (1) the policy of new student enrollment is made based on the policy of  Department of Education of surabaya and  mayor decision, (2) the system of the new  enroollment students runs well, open, and transparent. The system used is online while the offline is used related to the patnership entrance and the result is published online. (3) the criteria of the new  students enrollment is based on the number of the registered students, school capacity, and class capacity, (4) the procedures of the new student enrollment are: (a) forming the committee, (b) meeting for new students enrollment, (c) announcing new students enroolment, (d) the registration of the new students, and (g) re-registration. (5) the problems faced by this process are when the students do not do the registration. When the new students make mistakes in their registration that make then not be accepted in SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya or other state junior high school. (6) the ways conducted to improve the new student enrollment in SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya is the school will give clear guidance for the new student enrollment for the following year. The school will also provide the professional information technology personnel.
