ABSTRACT 


Cardiorespiratory endurance is the ability of the heart muscle, lungs and blood vessels work together while doing activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship body fat percentage on cardiorespiratory endurance to pencak silat athletes at SMP Negeri 01 Ngunut Tulungagung club. The type of this study used product moment correlation. That use to correlate between the body fat percentage on cardiorespiratory endurance (VO2max). Data analysis results were analyzed using a number of statistical formulas such as count correlation results.


Analysis results obtained showed correlation coefficient of -0.80 in the 5% significance level. To test the significance of correlation coefficients using t-test formula. Based on the calculations, the price tcount = 5.0596 and ttable with df = n - 2. So df = 10 - 2 = 8. With a 5% error level, price ttable found = 3.355. Apparently tcount price greater than ttable (5.0596 > 3.355). Because tcount> ttable the correlation coefficient was found that showed a significant relationship of body fat percentage on cardiorespiratory endurance to pencak silat athletes at SMP 01 Ngunut Tulungagung club.


Conclusions in this study are athletes who have a low body fat percentage will have a higher cardiorespiratory endurance athletes and otherwise who have a high body fat percentage will have a low cardiorespiratory endurance.
