Abstract


ABSTRACTBlind child was one of special need children who had orientation and mobility ability which needed to be increased because they had obstacle in vision. In this case, playing football was used to enhance orientation and mobility ability of blind students. Playing football was hoped to be able to activate the movement in orientation and mobility.This research purpose was to enhance the orientation and mobility ability of blind students in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya.This research used pre experiment arrangement with one group pre test – post test design with 6 blind students as the subjects with 6 low vision students’ characteristics. The data analysis of this research used statistic non parametric with Sign Test kind.The research result indicated that there was influence of playing football toward orientation and mobility ability of blind students in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya, it was proven when the pre test was given the value result of orientation and mobility ability of blind students was between 42 and 75 and after giving treatment of the post test the value of orientation and mobility ability to blind students was between 67 and 90.From the data analysis result, it was concluded that the counting of ZH = 2,05. The number was then compared with critic value 5% ZH = +1,96. The result indicated that ZH > 1,96 which meant Ho was refused. The refusal of Ho meant the acceptance of Ha so that it could be stated “there was influence of playing football toward orientation and mobility ability to blind students in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya”.Keywords: Playing football, orientation and mobility.
