Abstract


Abstract : Retardation mental children are child who have developmental delays and mental. Children learn things slower than his peers. Children need guidance or special education to help him learn the ropes, both in terms of education as well as activities of daily living. Therefore, the provision of non-academic services is needed to support post-school children mental retardation. This study focused on efforts to improve the vocational skills of children with reterdation mental through drill method. Drill method is also called training method, is a good way of teaching to inculcate certain habits. Also as a means to maintain good habits. In addition, this method can also be used to obtain a dexterity, precision, opportunities, and skills. Given vocational skills is making tempe because in addition to readily available materials, the process of making tempe is also quite easy to learn mentally reterdation child. In this study using the "Classroom Action Research" by using action research design class S. Emmbut (Kemmis and Targart, 1988). For the analysis of research use descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. From the analysis of the study showed that there was an increase in child mental retardation vocational skills through drill method in making tempe in class XI SMALB C TPA Jember
