Abstract


Abstract Language development of deaf children need special services. In a special service requires learning model that fits the characteristics of the child. Inductive model of word-picture of an early concept model with the use of images as a stimulus for speaking experience. Likewise pemata deaf children as children, the use of images as a stimulus is needed in the study. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of using picture word inductive model for deaf children’s vocabularies at Karya Mulia I inclusive School Surabaya. This research uses quantitative approach. This is a pre experiment research. The design of this research is one group pre test post test design. The data collecting methods used are test and documentation. The test is used to get the data of deaf students’ vocabularies before and after they are given intervention. The documentation is used to get the students’ identity. The intervention is given in 10 meetings. Each meeting is 2x30 minutes. The learning materials given in this intervention are who to feed the cow, grow the cat, and the process of eggs to be the chicken. The result of the data analysis by using sign test is Zh = 2.05 and Z table = 1.96. Since Zh > Z table. means there is a significant effect of using picture word inductive model for deaf children’s vocabularies at Karya Mulia I inclusive School Surabaya.
