Abstract


ABSTRACT
The impact of hearing disorder, the hearing eimpairment student had, coused hindrance in speech ability, the low speech ability caused the cognitive and intelegence development not optimal because of difficult obtaining information. This made hearing impairment students find difficult in learning mathematics because mathematics was a symbol language.a symbol language for hearing impairment students was abstract comprehension so that in learning mathematics the student required visualization. It was suitable with the characteristic of hearing impairment students who was easier to understand visual thing than auditory. This research applied direct learning model with flannel board media toward the learning mathematics result of side adding which had purpose to know the influence of direct learning model with flannel board media toward learning mathematics result of side adding which had purpose to know the influence of direct learning model with flannel board media toward learning mathematics result of side adding to hearing impairment students of class 1 in SDLB – Karya Mulia I Surabaya.
This research used quantitative approach with pre experiment anf one group pretest-postest designs. The data collection used test to know the result of writing basic sentence skill before and after giving treatment. The data analysis used sign test formula.
The research result indicated there was influence of direct learning with flannel board media toward learning result, in pretest it was 45,13 becoming 78,13 in postest. Zh 2.48 was far above from Ztable value 1,96 so it was decided to refuse Ho and to accept Ha. Based on the explanation above it could be concluded that “there was significant influence of using direct learning model with flannel board maedia toward learning mathematic result of side adding to hearing impairment students of class 1 in SDLB-B Karya Mulia I Surabaya
