PENGARUH MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA MATERI ENERGI DALAM KEHIDUPAN KELAS VII SMPN 2 TAMAN

Discovery Learning merupakan pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa secara mandiri dalam menemukan konsep dan prinsip. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, (2) mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa, (3) mendeskripsikan hasil belajar, (4) mendeskripsikan respons siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan pre-eksperimental. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan one group pre-test-post-test design.. Penelitian ini menggunakan random sampling. dengan sampel siswa kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 2 Taman. Hasil data dalam penelitian ini yaitu keterlaksanaan pembelajaran model Discovery Learning, hasil aktivitas siswa, hasil belajar siswa meliputi sikap, pengetahuan  dan keterampilan, hasil respons siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran model Discovery Learning pada pertemuan pertama terlaksana baik dengan persentase 85,36% dan pertemuan kedua terlaksana “Baik” dengan persentase 83,57%. Peningkatan hasil belajar pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan pembelajaran Discovery Learning sebesar <g> =0,68 dengan kriteria gain score “Sedang”.  Aktivitas siswa pada pertemuan pertama dan kedua memperoleh rata-rata persentase 25% dengan kriteria “Kurang”. Respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran Discovery Learning diperoleh bahwa 85,13% siswa kelas VII-A, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa respons siswa positif terhadap penerapan pembelajaran Discovery Learning dengan kriteria “Sangat Baik”.

Abtract


Discovery Learning is learning which is designed to develop students' ability independently to find concepts and principles. This research study aims to (1)describe the materialized learning (2) describe the students activity (3) describe the result of the study (4) describe the students responses. Type of this research is a pre-experimental. The research design used one group pre-test-post-test design. This research used random sampling with a sample class VII-A SMP Negeri 2 Taman. The data gained from this research study is materialized learning of discovery learning model, the students activity, students learning including attitude and behaviour, knowledge and skills, and the students responses. The result of the research study shows that materialized learning of discovery learning model in the first meeting are well done with the percentage 85.36%, also the second meeting with the percentage of 83.57%. The enhancement knowledge as the results of the study before and after applying the discovery learning is <g> =0.68 with “Medium” gain score. The activity of the students in the first and second meeting gain averagely 25% with “Less” criteria. The students responses towards Discovery learning model gain 85.13% by the students in Class VII-A, this shows that the students responses is positive towards the applied Discovery learning with “Very Good” criteria.
