PENERAPAN MODEL DIRECT INSTRUCTION DENGAN TEKNIK MIND MAPPING PADA TEMA PERKARATAN LOGAM BESI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Penelitian ini mengenai penerapan model Direct Instruction dengan teknik Mind Mapping (peta pikiran) pada tema perkaratan logam besi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar, keterlaksanaan model Direct Instruction dengan teknik Mind Mapping (peta pikiran), serta respon siswa. Rancangan penelitian ini merupakan “One Shot Case Study” dan analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Buduran Sidoarjo tahun ajaran 2012-2013. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII F. Data pada penelitian ini adalah data hasil tes belajar, keterlaksanaan model Direct Instruction dengan teknik Mind Mapping (peta pikiran), hasil siswa membuat Mind Mapping (peta pikiran), dan data respon siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh rata-rata ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara kognitif 97% siswa tuntas. Hasil belajar siswa pad a aspek afektif dan psikomotor masing-masing dirata-rata sebesar 87,50% dan 84,38%. Hasil pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pertemuan I dan II masing-masing yaitu 3,67; 3,82 sehingga rata-rata pertemuan I dan II yaitu 3,75 yang artinya keterlaksanaan model Direct Instruction dengan teknik Mind Mapping (peta pikiran) terlaksana dengan sangat baik. Hasil siswa membuat Mind Mapping (peta pikiran) memiliki rata-rata sebesar 76,07% dengan kategori baik. Siswa memberikan respon yang sangat baik terhadap model Direct Instruction dengan teknik Mind Mapping (peta pikiran) pada tema perkaratan logam besi dengan persentase 97,94% yang menjawab positif.

Abstract


The research was about the application of Direct Instruction with Mind Mapping (mind maps) technic on the theme of iron metal corrosion to improve student learning in the class VII grade Junior High School 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. This research goal was to describe the learning result,  the implementation of Direct Instruction with Mind Mapping (mind maps) technic, and the response of the students. The research was done with the draft ”One Shot Case Study”, and done by descriptive analysis. Population of this research was all the VII grade students of the Junior High School 2 Buduran Sidoarjo academic year 2012-2013. Sample which used in this research was VII F class. Data on this research was data of results, implementation data of Direct Instruction with Mind Mapping (mind maps) technic, data of students’ Mind Mapping (mind maps) result, and data of students’ responses. Based on the data analysis, it can be obtained the students’ learning completeness by providing a test of the study result were obtained 97% of students’ have been completed. Students’ learning outcomes in the affective and psychomotor aspects of each are 87,50% and 84,38%. The average of the observation in implementation learning in meeting I and II respectively are 3,67; 3,82 so that the average of meeting I and II are 3,75 which means that the implementation of Direct Instruction with Mind Mapping (mind maps) technic performing very well. Data of students’ Mind Mapping (mind maps) result obtained in the average 76,07% with well performing. Students respond very well to the Direct Instruction with technic Mind Mapping (mind maps) on student learning of iron metal corrosion theme with percentage 97,94% who answered positively.
