IDENTIFIKASI LIMBAH SERBUK INDUSTRI BAN

Abstract


Abstrak. Limbah serbuk industri ban merupakan salah satu limbah yang dihasilkan dari proses industri ban. Tiap tahun, produksi limbah kian meningkat seiring peningkatan produksi ban. Selama ini, limbah tersebut hanya ditampung dan belum dimanfaatkan karena tidak diketahui komposisi limbah dan manfaat yang mampu dihasilkan oleh limbah tersebut. Penelitian ini terfokus pada identifikasi unsur yang terdapat dalam limbah. Hasil karakterisasi SEM-EDX menunjukkan limbah tersusun dari 82,83% karbon, 0,55% sulfur, 3,35 seng dan 13,27% oksigen. Karakterisasi FTIR menunjukkan limbah mengandung gugus regang OH, regang CH alkana, regang CH alkena, dan regang C=O.

Abstract.Waste powder from tire industry is one of the waste generated from tire industry process. Each year, waste production is increasing as tire production increases. During this time, the waste is only accommodated and has not been utilized because of unknown composition of waste and the benefits that can be generated by the waste. This study focuses on identifying the elements contained in the waste. The SEM-EDX characterization results show that the waste composed of 82.83% carbon, 0.55% sulfur, 3.35 zink and 13,27% oxygen. FTIR characterization refers to the waste containing OH stretching, CH alkana stretching, CH alkene groups stretching, and C=O stretching.
