The Bondi Vet star posted the sweet image to Instagram on Monday, showing him laying down as he's swamped by the small brown pups. 

The 41-year-old appeared to be in an outback setting and was wearing a blue checked shirt.

He captioned the photo: 'Coming down to the same level as these Kelpie pups could have been a fatal error as they usually sense an opportunity for chaos and pounce.

The TV vet was treated for an ulcerated eye after coming into contact with a toxic substance at home in Sydney.  

He told Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa: 'I was gardening and did a bit of pruning and didn't realise I was pruning a highly toxic plant and it broke off at the stem and put sap into my eye.'   

'Sap from a toxic cactus ulcerated my cornea and I ended up in ER last night with an ulcerated eye,' he explained.

Chris was upbeat despite the injury, joking with the radio hosts that he should perhaps stick to animals instead of gardening. 

He said: 'The only problem is when you're in this self-isolation period, you tend to take on little challenges around the house that you probably shouldn't.

'Stay in your lane. Whatever you're good at, just stick with that. Don't try to diversify into other areas!'
