Model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah (problem based instruction) merupakan model pembelajaran yang sangat potensial untuk mengembangkan kemandirian siswa melalui pemecahan masalah yang bermakna bagi kehidupan siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui 1) keterlaksanaan sintaks, 2) aktivitas siswa, 3) hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif, 4) respon siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre experiment dengan rancangan penelitian one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah kelas X tata kecantikan rambut di SMK Negeri 1 Sooko Mojokerto sebanyak 24 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, tes dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus rata-rata, uji t dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) keterlaksanaan sintaks mencapai rata-rata 3-4 dengan kategori baik-sangat baik, 2) aktivitas siswa mendapatkan persentase sebesar 83.3%-100% dengan kategori sangat baik, 3) hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif  diperoleh rata-rata pretest (66.96) dan posttest (81.96) berbeda secara signifikan probabilitas < 0.05 dengan uji t sebesar 11.495, 4) respon siswa mencapai persentase sebesar 87.5%-100% dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah (problem based instruction) terhadap hasil belajar kosmetika di SMK Negeri 1 Sooko Mojokerto.

Abstract


Problem based instruction is learning model which is very potential to develop the independently of learner through problem solving that meaningful for learner life. The aims of this research are to determine 1) syntax realization, 2) learner activity, 3) learning achievement in the cognitive domain, 4) learner response. Type of this research is pre experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Research subject are student of grade X hair styling in SMK Negeri 1 Sooko Mojokerto as many as 24 learners. Data collecting technique use observation method, test, and questionnaire. Data analysis technique used mean formula, t test, and percentage. Research yield shows that 1) syntax realization obtained means 3-4 with category is very good, 2) learner activity obtained percentage 83.3%-100% with category is very good, 3) learning achievement of learner in the cognitive domain obtained average pretest (66.96) and posttest (81.96) different significantly probability < 0.05 with t test 11.495, 4) learner response obtained percentage 87.5%-100% with category is very good. Based on data analysis could be concluded that there are effect of problem based instruction implementation toward cosmetics learning achievement in SMK Negeri 1 Sooko Mojokerto.
