DIE LERNERGEBNISSE LESEVERSTÄNDNIS DER DEUTSCHEN SPRACHE DER SCHÜLER KLASSE XI IPA 4 SMA NEGERI MOJOAGUNG MIT DER STRATEGIE DRA (DIRECTED READING ACTIVITY)

Abstract


There are four skills in language learning, who the students should get this skills. The skills are listening, speaking, reading and writing. Reading is an important skill because by reading we can get useful information that can reduce stress, increase knowledge and reading is also considered a conversation. Reading is a process to send a message through the medium of the author, or words written language to get. But reading ability is an ability that can not easily control the students, especially reading comprehension, because it requires higher reasoning. In fact, many students has the difficulty in reading comprehension. Another fundamental factor is the lack of practice with the reading texts, less variations or the use of appropriate strategies, lack of vocabulary and motivation to study. Therefore, there must be appropriate reading strategy to help students understand the texts read.


 


The problems of this research are: (1) How is reading comprehension performance of students of class XI Science 4 SMAN Mojoagung with the application of the strategy DRA (Directed Reading Activity)?.


The objectives of the research are: (1) to know the learning outcomes of the reading comprehension class XI Science 4 SMAN Mojoagung with the application of the strategy DRA (Directed Reading Activity).


This study is a qualitative research. The research was carried out during three sessions. The instrument of this research is testing. The data of this research is learning outcomes of students. The data were collected using qualitative descriptive approach.


The data obtained from the average student learning outcomes for the test (pre-test) is 68.82 beginning than the number of students who completed 6 students from 30 students (20%). Average test to the second test session was 72.79, 8 students from 28 students (28.57%) completed and the third session (post-test) 91.92 average student learning outcomes, students completed 27 of 30 students (90%).


The conclusion of this research is the strategy DRA (Directed Reading Activity) can improve the learning outcomes of students reading German language student class XIScience 4 SMA Mojoagung.
