PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA SMP DENGAN PENERAPAN MODEL PROCESS ORIENTED GUIDED INQUIRY LEARNING (POGIL) MATERI TEKANAN ZAT CAIR

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan capaian keterampilan proses sains setelah diterapkannya model Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning kelas VIII-E SMP Negeri 2 Gedangan. POGIL terdiri dari lima tahapan, yaitu: 1) orientasi, 2) eksplorasi, 3) pembentukan konsep, 4) aplikasi dan 5) penutup. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre Experimental Design dengan rancangan penelitian One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni observasi dan test. Peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji N-gain skor dan uji-t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Keterampilan proses sains siswa meningkat dengan kategori sedang setelah diterapkannya model POGIL dengan N-gain score yang diperoleh sebesar 0,67 dan analisis uji-t berpasangan dengan signifikansi 0,00 (sig < 0,05) yang berarti terjadi peningkatan signifikan nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest keterampilan proses sains siswa. Denganmdemikian dapat dismpulkan bahwa model POGIL efektif untuk meningkatkanmketerampilan proses sains siswa kelas VIII-E SMP Negeri 2 Gedangan.

Abstract

This research aims to describe achievement of the science process skills after implementation Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning Model in class VIII-E SMP Negeri 2 Gedangan. POGIL consists of five phases: 1) orientation, 2) exploration, 3) concept formation, 4) applications and 5) closure. Type of research used is Pre Experimental Design with research design of One Group Pre-Test And Post-Test Design. Data collection techniques used were observations and test. Increase scientific process skills was analyzed using a N-gain score test and paired t-test. The results showed that students science prcess skills increased in the medium category after application of POGIL model with N-gain score obtained by 0.67 and t-paired t-test analysis with significance 0.00 (sig <0.05) which means significant increase the average value pretest and posttest of students science process skills. Thus it can be concluded that the POGIL model is effective for improving the science process skills students in class VIII-E SMPN 2 Gedangan.
