Kelayakan Buku Ajar Berbasis Problem-based Learning (PBL) untuk Melatihkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMP

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui secara teoritis dan empiris kelayakan buku ajar berbasis Problem-based Learning (PBL) pada materi sistem pencernaan untuk melatihkan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Kelayakan teoritis ditinjau berdasarkan validasi buku ajar, sedangkan kelayakan empiris ditinjau berdasrakan uji keterbacaan dan hasil respon siswa terhadap buku ajar. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengacu prosedur pengembangan Sugiyono yang terdiri atas 6 tahapan. Uji coba dilakukan secara terbatas di SMPN 1 Gresik pada tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 di kelas VIII sebanyak 32 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar berbasis Problem-based Learning (PBL) dinyatakan layak digunakan untuk siswa SMP secara teoritis yang ditinjau berdasarkan hasil validasi. Skor yang diperoleh dari hasil validasi sebesar 3,75 dengan katagori valid. Kelayakan empiris buku ajar yang ditinjau berdasarkan uji keterbacaan memperoleh peringkat 8 yang berarti sesuai dan layak digunakan untuk siswa SMP kelas 8, sedangkana respon siswa terhadap buku ajar memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 86,87% dengan kriteria sangat baik.

Abstract

This research is aimed to understand the feasibility a textbook using of problem-based learning on digestive system material to trill the critical thinking skills of junior high school students understand theoretically and empirically. Theoretical feasibility was reviewed based on the results of validation of the textbook, whereas the empirical feasibility was reviewed based on the results of readibility test and the students responses to textbook. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R & D) propose by Sugiyono for that consisting 6 stages. The trial was conducted in SMPN 1 Gresik for academic year 2018/2019 in class VIII by involving 32 students. The results of research data indicated that the problem based learning-based textbooks are appropriate to be used for junior high school students. The score obtained from the validation was 3.75 with very valid category. The empirical eligibility of the textbooks reviewed based on the legality test was ranked 8 which means appropriate for the 8th grade junior high school students, while the students’ response to the textbook had an average score of 86,87% with very good criteria
