Abstract


Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui massa dan waktu kontak optimum, model isotherm
adsorpsi serta efisiensi adsorpsi karbon aktif granular sebagai adsorben logam Cu(II) di Air Laut Kenjeran.
Metode yang digunakan adalah post test only control group design. Analisis kuantitatif terhadap konsentrasi
Cu, diperoleh menggunakan alat Spektrofotometri Serapan Atom (SSA) tipe AAnalyst 100. Hasil yang diperoleh
menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimum massa sebesar 1 gram dan waktu kontak 60 menit digunakan untuk
mengetahui kadar logam Cu(II) di air laut Kenjeran. Menggunakan model isoterm Langmuir diperoleh
kapasitas adsorpsi sebesar 0,177 mg/g, konstanta Langmuir sebesar 171,2 mg/L-1 dengan efisiensi adsorpsi
sekitar 63-85%.

Abstract. The aims of this research were to know the optimum of mass, contact time, adsorption isotherm models
and eficiency of granular activated carbon used as adsorbent for removal copper metal in Kenjeran seawater.
The post test only control group design was used as the research method. Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry
(AAS) type AAnalyst 100 was used to quantitive analysis of copper concentration. The results showed optimum
condition of mass was 1 gram with contact time in the 60th minute used to adsorb Cu (II) in the Kenjeran
seawater. Respectively using Langmuir isotherm models the adsorption capacity was 0.177 mg/g, Langmuir
equilibrium constant was 171,2 mg/L-1 with adsorption efficiency 63-85%.
